MUSIC Stroll Lay Me Down

THE BERRIES www.theberriesband.com This sound of this Cork based 3 piece has evolved into punchy direct rock and their reputation as a ‘live act’ is soaring. Following the successful release of 2 EPs in 2004 The band is currently putting the finishing touches on their debut album which will be release by Treasure Monster records in early 2006 (produced by Ashley Keating of the Frank & Walters and engineered by Ruairi O’Flaherty). The Berries formed in 2003 and their 1st EP was released in early 2004. They subsequently won the prestigious ‘Murphys Uncorked Battle of The Bands’ and headlined over 40 gigs during the year. Their 2nd EP was released in November 2004 to much critical praise and coverage on nationwide radio and press. In 2005 The Berries were selected as finalists for the Murphys Live 2005 event and participated in the prestigious IMRO showcase tour. The Berries music is an eclectic and fruity cocktail of powerful and soulful vocals layered on a foundation of pumping drum and bass blended with both delicate and blistering guitar. Their unique sound ranges from laid back melodic ballads to explosive, tribal ‘crowd exhausting’ rock songs.
