Hailing from Wellington, New Zealand, The Black Seeds fuse dub, funk, and soul,
with a classic reggae base. After forming in 1997, The Black Seeds have a
gold album, two double-platinum selling albums, and a masterful 8-piece live
show regarded as one of the finest in New Zealand.
After signing record deals with European labels Sonar Kollectiv and Rough
Trade Netherlands in 2007, The Black Seeds successfully released their 3rd
album Into the Dojo in Europe in July 07 to critical acclaim and strong
airplay, followed by their third European tour in the summer 2007.
In 2008 The Black Seeds released their highly anticipated 4th studio album
'Solid Ground' throughout NZ, Europe & Australia, followed by sellout NZ &
Australian tours, and two successful european tours, which included standout
performances at festivals such as Roskilde, The Lovebox Weekender, Garrance,
Summerjam, and many more.
