In the space of just one year Jodavino have gone from playing a 12 week residency in Cyprus Avenue to supporting Roxy Music and Lionel Richie in the Live at the Marquee Festival, and winning admirers such as Bryan Ferry & Morrissey along the way.
Jodavino were formed in July 2005 by brother and sister duo, Joe and Aoibheann Carey. The two joined forces with Joe Philpott on guitar, Humphrey Murphy on bass and Dave Ryan on drums to complete the lineup.
The group's debut album 'Deep End' was completed in March '06 with Art O'Laoire at the engineering helm, enlisting mixers Joe Chester (Future Kings of Spain, Nina Hynes), Ber Quinn (The Frank & Walters) and Herbie Macken (Neil Finn of Crowded House, Gavin Friday) after three productive months of recording. The final chapter of the process concluded when George Marino (Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay) mastered the album in Sterling Sound, New York in February '06. The album was released in September '06 to much critical praise.
