Since The Buds formed in late 1996, the band have gone from strength to strength incorporating most rock styles and a few of it's ancestors; blues, jazz and soul. Although The Buds are most easily categorized as a rock group, the aforementioned styles of music can be heard in the fabric of their songs and are even prevalent in some of their melodies. The Buds are a five-piece band that write and perform their own original material apart from a few well-known covers. The Buds are Jim Lee (lead vocals), Peter Constant (lead guitar), George Boyle (bass guitar), Ruairí Ó Brien (rhythm guitar) and Cian Ó' Mahony (drums). The band have been playing around Cork for the last four and a half years now and have developed their stage act as well as fine tuning their live performance.
