We Should Be Dead

"Poptastic, Hooktastic, Punktastic, Girl/Boy-tastic!

Fun-loving dancable Indie-pop bubblegum rock! With a love for the

'staright to the point' 3 minute pop song. The kind of songs that

would appeal to fans of everything from Abba to Weezer, Shangri-las to

Ramones, Spector to ESG, Beach boys to CSS."

We Should Be Dead originally started out as a studio project in late

2003. At the time Stephen (Drums) and Tara (Vox / Synths) recorded a

three track demo. The title track "Fuckin' Around" was chosen to open

the "Balls Of Iron" compilation cd. With the positive response

received they decided to form a rock n roll combo. To cut a long story

short they roped in Gary (Bass) because of his great taste in punk

t-shirts and Anna (Guitar / Vox) to even out the boy / girl politics!

The band set about recording a second demo, this time as a four piece.

This lead to some high profile and memorable support slots. WSBD spent

2005 / 2006 honing their sound by writing new material and touring up

and down the country. Through the wonders of My Space WSBD gained

significant radio. They also featured on a special I-Tunes podcast

featuring the cream of the unsigned underground. The band were more

than surprised to find that their songs had made many end of year

"best of" polls between radio stations and indie clubs.

In late 2006 WSBD began work on their 1st album with

Finny Corcoran (BPM studios) & Richard Dowling

(wav mastering for Foo Fighters, Stiff Little Fingers, Kylie Minogue)

in their native

Ireland. The 13 track debut "Forget Romance, Let's Dance!" is now

fully recorded, mixed, and mastered. At present WSBD are preparing

for a full-on assault with the release of their debut album 'Forget

Romance, Let's Dance! The album will be released internationally

through i-tunes and will be available in record stores throughout the

country. The band are currently gearing themselves up for a

press blitz with national tour dates, radio sessions and instores.

Recent tours have included slots with Juliette Lewis & The Licks, The

Twang, Ralph Myerz, The Chalets & Boss Volenti as well as a

roof-raising performance at this years 'Hard Working Class Heros',

festival in Dublin. Phantom FM have hotlisted this band as well as 2fm's

Dan Hegarty.

Press Quotes:-

"The Brilliantly named We Should Be Dead have a magical

pop-sensibility"- inDublin Magazine

"Perhaps easiest to describe their sound as The Ramones meet The

Shangri-Las, when listening to them live it is impossible not to feel

a part of you has traveled back to the 70s, witnessing at first hand a

peer of The Runaways or Blondie, belting out incredibly catchy tunes

to the punk generation." - Frequency-Ireland

"Ones to watch for 2008" - Phantom fm

"Incredibly catchy" - Dan Hegarty, 2fm

"I think we can look forward to big things from these guys" - Mike

Knightson - Newstalk,

The Meaning Of Music.

"Like a pick and mix of 60's girl groups, old school punk and modern

Indie pop. Energetic and dangerous!" - WWR, Connecticut

The Laundry Shop

You might know this band from the song "Highs And Lows" which is featured on the Discover Ireland advert on TV.

The Laundry Shop are an Indie rock three piece: Swedish Girl and two Irish guys. They have only been together 10 months and have already played around the country, released their debut single, "Highs and Lows" Which went top thirty in Ireland, gained 5 star reviews and built up a reputation as an explosive live act. The name came when they stripped out the Laundry room in their rented accommodation and installed a studio where they are half way though their Album. The sound of the band arises from their love of such acts as Weezer, Sonic Youth, Pavement and Smashing Pumpkins. One minute delicate and ethereal, the next a full on attack of aggressive rock. A keen ear for strong melody is what makes them stand out from the crowd. The next few months sees the band gigging all over the country while continuously recording and rehearsing.
