It feels like the world is on fire right now, but Daniel Lukas is still smiling.
After accidentally starting a stand-up comedy career four years ago, Daniel has gone on to build a sizeable following online through his comedy music tracks, stand-up clips, and sketches, amassing over 20 million views across social media platforms. He has toured all over Ireland with his previous show The Only Funny German, performed alongside some of the biggest comedy names in Ireland and the UK, appeared on Irish political talk show The State of Craic, and hosted his own podcast How Do You Feel?
Now Daniel brings his sophomore solo show This Is Fine to Cyprus Avenue in Cork City.
This Is Fine is about that feeling when everything around you seems to be slowly falling apart. The news gets worse every day, forever wars continue, people seem increasingly disconnected from reality, and modern life somehow keeps getting more stressful all at the same time. But somehow, you still keep smiling through it, believing things will work out in the end.
In this new show, Daniel explores geopolitics, internet culture, modern life, history, and the general absurdity of being alive through his trademark aggressive optimism.
The show will also feature live performances of Daniel’s comedy music alongside frequent collaborator and producer Ale Ale.
If you’ve ever left a smoking area feeling strangely optimistic after listening to somebody rant about how f*cked the world is, this is the show for you.
