20 years into her ever-evolving career, London-based, BRIT Award-winning singer, songwriter, actor and activist KATE NASH has seen it all, from finding huge commercial success in 2007’s hit Foundations, reaching number 1 in the UK with her debut album ‘Made Of Bricks’, touring the world as an independent punk artist, writing & performing in the musical ‘Only Gold’ in New York and starring in HBO’s hit wrestling drama, GLOW.
Her powerful trans ally anthem GERM was released in 2025, and saw Kate enter the Billboard Charts in the US and make headlines around the world. She debuted GERM at a career-defining headline performance at Mighty Hoopla Festival where she played songs from across her catalogue with a full orchestra. GERM was the latest release on legendary label Kill Rock Stars, following Kate’s fifth album ‘9 Sad Symphonies’ in 2024, a record inspired by old Hollywood, vintage musicals and a desperate quest to find beauty in a rotten world. Mighty Hoopla was part of 2 years of touring the world in support of ‘9 Sad Symphonies’, a run which also included performing at Glastonbury two years running, including headlining the Leftfield Tent in 2025. The world tour culminated in a triumphant sold out headline show at London’s iconic Roundhouse in March 2026.
Now turning her focus to music inspired by her dual nationalities, English and Irish, her most recent single is a cover of Sinéad O’Connor’s Famine, featuring a new original verse. Following Sinéad’s passing on 2023, Kate revisited her discography and was struck by Famine, a song that fused spoken word, hip-hop and heartache that broke through decades of silence surrounding one of Ireland’s deepest wounds, the Great Hunger. Famine is the first release from her upcoming record, a raw, raucous album combining traditional Irish sounds with punk energy, hip-hop production and Nash’s knack for a killer hook.
Kate Nash started her career on myspace uploading her demos to the platform and playing in and around London in 2006. In 2007 her debut album, Made of Bricks, went to number one in the UK charts and she was crowned ‘Best Female Artist’ at the 2008 BRIT Awards. Her hit song, Foundations, stormed the charts and remains in radio rotation. In the wake of Kate’s second album, My Best Friend Is You, Kate set about using her influence to shift gender perceptions and inspire a new generation of female musicians, launching the Rock ‘N’ Roll for Girls After School Music Club. She released her third album 'Girl Talk' independently and continued releasing music as an independent artist until signing to KRS in 2023.
She is currently shining a light on the crisis in live music touring through her campaign Butts for Tour Buses, and works closely with the Music Venue Trust, for whom she is an artist patron.
Alongside her music career, Kate is also an acclaimed actress and producer. Kate was approached by legendary Hamilton choreographer, Andy Blankenbuehler, to write and develop a Broadway musical using her original songs. Kate starred in the production ‘Only Gold’ in 2022 in New York at the MCC theatre. Nash is also well known for her performance as Rhonda Richardson on Netflix's Emmy nominated original, 'GLOW', produced by Jenji Kohan, and for playing Boudica in the BAFTA nominated 'Horrible Histories'. A raw and honest documentary following her career "Underestimate the Girl" was picked for the BBC's notorious Storyville and has screened at festivals across the world.
